Since the great 21st century rediscovery of Bettye LaVette returned her to prominence, she has worked extensively in the rock and folk idioms, with her unique takes on songs by the likes of The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Fiona Apple, and Dolly Parton. But never before has she devoted an entire album to the material of one songwriter: Bob Dylan. Her latest album, Things Have Changed, spans more than five decades of Dylan songs, from 1964’s immortal “The Times They Are A-Changin’” up to “Ain’t Talkin’,” the epic final track on his 2006 album Modern Times.
Wednesday, January 1 at 8 pm on KPJK TV in the South Bay. The USAF Air Force Band pays tribute to the legendary Glenn Miller on the 75th anniversary of his disappearance over the English Channel. Featuring vocalists and Broadway dancers, the Band plays dozens of Miller’s hits, including “I’ll be Seeing You,” “At Last,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” and “Chatanooga Choo Choo.” Recorded in May 2019 at the Strathmore Theater in Bethesda, MD.

Celebrate the music of an iconic singer, bandleader, and pianist – the blind “genius of soul.” Taped at Nashville, Tennessee’s country music stage The Grand Ole Opry and hosted by Darius Rucker, the program features performances of Ray Charles’s songs by Boyz II Men, Charlie Wilson, Lukas Nelson, LeAnn Rimes, Allen Stone, Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood, and Chris Young.
